Routine spelling, grammar, or formatting corrections generally do not require disclosure.
Where disclosure is appropriate, authors should briefly describe:
- The AI tool used.
- The purpose of its use.
- The extent of human oversight and verification.
AI Cannot Be an Author
Artificial intelligence systems, language models, software agents, or automated tools cannot be listed as authors.
AI systems cannot:
- Meet accepted authorship criteria.
- Accept responsibility for published work.
- Approve the final manuscript.
- Disclose conflicts of interest.
- Assume legal or ethical accountability.
Authorship is limited to natural persons who satisfy the journal's authorship requirements.
Accuracy and Verification
Content generated or assisted by AI must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors.
Authors should independently confirm:
- Scientific accuracy.
- Correct interpretation.
- Completeness.
- Appropriate citations.
- Mathematical calculations.
- Statistical analyses.
- Programming code.
- Biological terminology.
- Clinical or technical information.
AI-generated content should never be accepted without critical human evaluation.
Originality
Authors must ensure that AI-assisted content does not infringe intellectual property rights or reproduce copyrighted material without appropriate authorization.
AI-generated material should not introduce:
- Plagiarism.
- Fabricated references.
- Fabricated data.
- Invented quotations.
- Misleading scientific statements.
- Unsupported conclusions.
Authors remain responsible for verifying the originality of all submitted material.
AI in Research
The journal welcomes research involving AI technologies, including studies on:
- Artificial Intelligence.

- Biomedical Data Science.
Research involving AI should include sufficient methodological detail to support scientific evaluation and reproducibility.
AI-Generated Images, Figures, and Multimedia
AI-generated figures, illustrations, images, videos, or multimedia may be included where scientifically justified and appropriately disclosed.
Authors should ensure that:
- Images accurately represent the underlying research.
- Visual content is not misleading.
- Any AI-assisted generation or modification is disclosed when material to the scientific content.
- Appropriate permissions have been obtained where necessary.
Manipulation of scientific images intended to misrepresent findings is strictly prohibited.
AI and Research Data
AI-assisted analysis of research data is acceptable provided that:
- Analytical methods are clearly described.
- Algorithms or models are appropriately identified.
- Results are reproducible where possible.
- Human oversight is maintained.
- Scientific conclusions are independently verified.
Where custom AI models are central to the study, authors are encouraged to provide sufficient methodological information to support reproducibility.
Use of AI by Reviewers
Reviewers have a responsibility to protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts, figures, datasets, or supplementary materials into publicly accessible AI systems or third-party services that may retain, store, or use submitted content beyond the review process.
If reviewers use AI tools for limited assistance (for example, language support or organizational purposes), they remain fully responsible for:
- The accuracy of the review.
- Independent scientific judgment.
