The Journal of Bio-Intelligence (JBI) is committed to supporting open scholarly communication while respecting the intellectual property rights of authors. The journal adopts a transparent copyright and licensing framework that enables the broad dissemination and responsible reuse of published research while ensuring appropriate recognition of the authors' contributions.

Our Copyright and Licensing Policy is designed to balance the interests of authors, readers, institutions, and the wider research community by promoting accessibility, proper attribution, and long-term preservation of scholarly work.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright to their published work.

By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Bio-Intelligence, authors confirm that they are the original creators of the work or have obtained all necessary permissions for the use of any third-party material included in the manuscript.

Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the Journal of Bio-Intelligence a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, archive, and identify itself as the original publisher of the work.

Because the license is non-exclusive, authors remain free to use and share their work in accordance with the terms of the applicable publication license.

Open Access License

Unless otherwise stated, articles published in the Journal of Bio-Intelligence are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Under this license, users may:

  • Read and download published articles.
  • Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Share articles for educational and research purposes.

Rights Granted to the Journal

Authors grant the Journal of Bio-Intelligence the right to:

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all third-party material included in their manuscript has been used lawfully.

Where copyrighted material owned by others is reproduced, authors must:

  • Comply with applicable copyright laws.
  • Clearly identify any material not covered by the article's Creative Commons license.

The Journal of Bio-Intelligence cannot grant permission to reuse third-party content that is not owned by the authors.

Permissions for Reuse

Material published under the journal's open-access license may generally be reused without requesting prior permission, provided that the conditions of the applicable license are followed.

Users should always:

  • Credit the original author(s).
  • Cite the published article accurately.

Where alternative licensing arrangements apply, these will be clearly indicated.

Repository Deposit

Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version of their article in:

  • Institutional repositories.
  • University digital libraries.
  • Subject-specific repositories.
  • Funding agency repositories.
  • Personal academic webpages.
  • Non-commercial scholarly networking platforms, where permitted.

Repository records should include complete bibliographic information, the article's DOI, and a link to the official version published by the Journal of Bio-Intelligence.

Long-Term Preservation

The Journal of Bio-Intelligence is committed to preserving the scholarly record through recognized digital preservation practices.

Published articles are assigned persistent identifiers and maintained as part of the journal's permanent scholarly archive to support long-term accessibility, discoverability, and citation.

Copyright Infringement

The journal takes allegations of copyright infringement seriously.

If a copyright owner believes that published material infringes their rights, they should contact the editorial office with:
